About Weardale Ferret Welfare
What do we do?
We promote humane behaviour towards ferrets by providing appropriate care, protection, treatment and security for ferrets which are in need of care and attention by reason of sickness, maltreatment, poor circumstances or ill usage and we educate the public in matters relating to ferret welfare in general and the prevention of cruelty and suffering.
We offer shelter to ferrets that are in need of medical attention; providing medical treatment for ferrets; and actively seeking new homes for "rescued" ferrets.
How do we do this?
By being available at stores and events in our area, talking to people explaining all about ferrets, offering advice on how to feed and look after ferrets. This can be hard at times as some people have certain ideas about ferrets but by talking to them and letting them see for themselves what ferrets are like, more often than not they realise what ferrets are really like.
Could you offer a "forever home"?
We are always looking for good homes to adopt our rescued ferrets. If you are interested in offering a ferret a new “forever home” please contact us for more details. You can see the ferrets that are available for adoption on our Adopt a Ferret page.
